GIPS currently offers four awards annually:
- The GIPS Travel Award is given annually to a pathology trainee with a demonstrated interest in gastrointestinal pathology.
- The GIPS Abstract Award is given annually to a pathology trainee presenting his or her GI pathology research at USCAP, with two runners up.
- The Jack Yardley Investigator Award recognizes seminal contributions or a significant body of published work that advances the field of gastrointestinal pathology.
- The Harvey Goldman Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes significant academic contributions made by an active GIPS member to the field of gastrointestinal pathology.
- The Rodger C. Haggitt Excellence in Mentorship Award recognizes a pathologist that has excelled as a mentor to GIPS members.
