Rodger C. Haggitt Excellence in Mentorship Award

The Rodger C. Haggitt Excellence in Mentorship award is awarded annually to one person to acknowledge and celebrate their excellence and impact through mentorship. Nominations may be from one or more persons. To nominate your mentor for this award, submit a short essay (maximum 600 words) describing how the nominee was a positive mentor in your career(s). The GIPS recognizes and applauds the diverse strengths and contributions from our members that build our community and therefore we want to acknowledge the important role of mentorship, which is not specifically the focus of the Yardley or Goldman awards. Preference will be given to mid-career pathologists whose contribution to GI pathology is significantly weighted toward mentorship and support of trainees, fellows, and junior faculty, rather than scholarship per se.  The essay should be signed by the person(s) who composed the essay and submitted to the chair of the nominating committee.
